The Photography

Q. I'm not that photogenic, and don't feel that comfortable having my photo taken, can you help me?

A. Most definately! There are several factors that are in your favour on your big day. Firstly you'll be amazed by the confidence you have when your hair and makeup are done and you're in your wedding dress. Also most of the time you'll be so caught up in the magic and excitement of the day that you won't even know you're being photographed! Anthony's wedding photojournalist style is unobtrusive, helps the day to flow and allows people to just enjoy the day, which ultimately results in relaxed and beautiful photographs that you will be delighted with.

Q. I love that candid wedding photojournalist style, but I also want some group shots of my family too. Can you accommodate that?

A. Of course! We work closely with you to create a wedding package that suits your needs. We also strongly recommend getting the more traditional photos of the family, close friends and the bridal party. Without these it really feels like somethings missing.

Security of our Photos

Q. I've heard horror stories of peoples wedding photos being lost from hard drives, or albums destroyed. How safe are our photos?

A. Here at SNAP! we recognise the value of your memories and keep their safety paramount. On the day we shoot using the highest specification storage devices and back-up the photos on the wedding day itself. Your photos are then stored on 3 (yes THREE!) separate hard drives. Two in the studio and a third at a secure location.

Q. Do you carry backup equipment? Someone I know booked a photographer and his camera broke - he ended up having to borrow one from a guest!

A. Being a wedding photographer is an honour but also a huge responsibility. We are professionals and we treat our job as such. Not only do we carry backup camera bodies but we also carry backup lenses, multiple batteries, over 50 GB of flash memory. The bottom line is we have been hired to record your wedding day, there are no second chances and so we take every precaution to ensure we get the job done.

Making Bookings

Q. A friend of mine missed out because you were already booked, how far in advance can I book?

A. It's advisable to get in as early as you can to avoid disappointment. We take bookings on a first come first served basis. We currently have bookings up to 2 years ahead of time and frequently have to refer double bookings - but you never know luck :)

Q. What do I need to do to book?

A. Simple. Just let us know the your wedding date and if we're available just make a $500 non-refundable deposit to secure the booking. Easy. If you wish to book please email admin@snapphotography.co.nz to request payment details.

The Venue

Q. Will you come out to the venue with us before the wedding?

A. Going to the wedding venue beforehand is a great way for us to go through some ideas for the photography, for us to get to know each other a little better, and you can ask any questions you may still have. Having said that though, it's not essential. We may have shot at that venue previously, and even if we haven't it only takes a couple of minutes to assess the surroundings and establish the best options for photos. On top of that a lot of research can be done beforehand online. If your wedding is within the greater Christchurch area we can come out to the venue prior to the wedding. If it is outside the greater Christchurch area we can either omit a visit or if you are certain that you need an on-site consultation there will be a one-off fee which will depend on the distance.
